Beginning January 2023, DFS Interpreting is now offering video/remote interpreting services from Spanish to English, payable by the minute, in 5-minute increments of time or part thereof. This new offering has the primary purpose of assisting court staff, attorneys and business personnel communicate efficiently with their Spanish-speaking clients in matters such as trial preparation, settlement negotiations, depositions, sentencing reports, etc. The rate being offered for this service is:

• $3.50 per minute, during regular business hours (Mon.-Fri. from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. PST) billed in 5-minute increments [$17.50 per 5-minute increments of time or part thereof].

• $4.50 per minute, after regular business hours or on weekends, billed in 5-minute increments [$22.50 per 5-minute increments of time or part thereof].

How to Schedule:

Scheduling a video/remote session in advance is required. DFS Interpreting is happy to use any video platform of your choosing. Simply let us know your platform of choice and we will be happy to download it onto the interpreter’s computer. Please call us at (530) 605-1999 or email us at Scheduling@DFSInterpreting.com to schedule in advance. Pre-scheduled remote conferences will require a time estimate. Once a block of time is scheduled, DFS Interpreting will prepare an invoice for the selected amount of time being requested. Please make note of this to ensure your client is available before scheduling, as you will be billed for the scheduled time.

Late Cancellation Policy:

Interpreting time canceled within 1 business day will be billed and paid by customer at the pre-scheduled amount of time originally requested. Pre-scheduled time is not transferrable. If re-scheduling, a new and separate fee is required.

How to Pay:

When you call to schedule, you will be asked for credit card information and a valid email address. At the end of each month, you will receive an email from Staff@DFSInterpreting.com with an invoice attached to it. This invoice will include all the time used during that given month. Upon receipt, you will have 30 days to issue and mail a check to us. Our mailing address is listed at the bottom of the homepage on our website. If payment is not received within the Net 30 timeframe, you hereby authorize us to charge your credit card. Please note that credit card payments will be subject to merchant service fees, so the best way to get the most out of this service is to pay by check within 30 days of receipt of the invoice.

Disclaimer: For remote platforms other than Zoom, you will be required to arrange the meeting and send our interpreter the link. This service is not intended to replace the fees billed under Section 9795.3 of the California Labor Code for services pertaining to workers’ compensation matters. Those services will still be billed to the insurance carriers at the statutory minimum rates established in the California Code of Regulations and OMFS. DFS Interpreting cannot guarantee a certified court interpreter will be available for any last-minute requests however, we will try our best to accommodate your needs.
